One Red Leaf

24x36 date

Normally when I'm walking in Fall I am accustomed to admiring the colorful leaves in bunches. Forests tend to shed their leaves in great piles of glorious color. I was delighted when I happened upon this one leaf caught in the break of an old rotting log and bathed in sunlight. I rarely place a focal point so obviously in the center of my paintings but that seemed most appropriate for this particular subject.
